MACHETE BETTY - THE SHORT FILM - premieres at the Everybody Dies Horror Film Festival - December 17, 2011

Last October, the Everybody Dies Horror Film Festival sliced it's way into Orange County complete with mistress of ceremony, Machete Betty! And the lovely lady with the giant "weapons" enjoyed watching the hundreds of scary movies that were submitted to the festival so much, she was inspired to make her own short film. With the help of producer Sara Parrell and writer/director Jeff C. Smith, Machete Betty the short film was created and screened at the festival! And now, being the attention whore that she is, Betty is submitting her little opus to other festivals across the globe. So keep your eyes open! She could be sneaking in to a town near you!

STMD! Review at Play4Film.com - August 15, 2009

Every once in a while, we'll stumble across a review of Stupid Teenagers Must Die! that we haven't seen before. And it's a huge bonus when it's a positive review! Check out the kind words from Play4Film.com:

Also distributed with the title "Blood and Guts", "Stupid Teenagers Must Die" is the perfect film for lovers of Eighties horror films. With a ridiculously low budget, director Jeff C. Smith succeeded in making a demented, yet conceptually intelligent, tribute to one of the most fruitful periods of the genre. It features beautiful nude girls for reasons unknown, fools who venture into places they should never go and really gory splatter scenes. Foolish but strangely irrisistible; those who can not tolerate the meaningless should abstain.

The People Vs. George Lucas - August 14, 2009

"George Lucas Raped Our Childhood", the Hot Waffles music video STMD! director Jeff C. Smith shot a couple of years ago, appears in the trailer for the new documentary, The People Vs. George Lucas. Check it out:

ED@SC at Fangoria.com - March 30, 2009

Everybody Dies at ScaryCon, the latest flick from Off Set Pictures, has made the pages of Fangoria.com, friends! You can see the actual announcement here: http://www.fangoria.com/home/news/9-film-news/1947-life-imitates-death-at-scarycon.html or you can just read on:

Indie writer/director Jeff C. Smith gave Fango the first word about his upcoming feature EVERYBODY DIES AT SCARYCON, which is currently in the process of casting and raising its finances. The project reunites Smith with producer Sara Parrell and many of the cast from his previous horror satire, STUPID TEENAGERS MUST DIE!

In EVERYBODY DIES AT SCARYCON, a low-budget filmmaking team attend the titular horror convention in a remote location to premiere their fright feature EVERYBODY DIES. “And, of course, something goes terribly wrong and people start getting hacked to pieces,” says Smith, who admits that “some” of the storyline is based on his own experiences. “The exciting part of SCARYCON for me is the cameos we’re lining up. This is a horror convention, after all, so we’re gonna fill the place with icons of the genre. If you’ve seen Robert Altman’s THE PLAYER, this is the horror movie version. We can’t tell you who’s going to be in there just yet, as we’re still ironing out the deals, but I think horror fans are going to be very excited once we announce our cast.” Keep your eyes here and on the MySpace page of Smith’s Off Set Pictures for updates.
